Verona Touristic Attractions
arena.jpg Arena of VeronaBuilt about 2000 years ago and preserved down to our own day practically intact, the Arena of Verona continues to fulfill the function for which it was built perfectly: entertaining the public. The Arena is today considered one of the preferred venues for many singers and musical groups, thanks to the fine acoustics and the atmosphere that the monument offers. The Theater Season organized by the City of Verona every year is also extremely important; visitors can still get tickets for “Aida”, the work by Giuseppe Verdi that consecrated the amphitheater as an important cultural venue in 1913.

giulietta.jpg Juliet’s BalconyJuliet’s Balcony is located along the modern-day Via Cappello in the Center of Verona, the ancient Roman Cardus Maximus, in a medieval tower-house. Juliet’s house can be visited through an entrance hall, whose plasterboard walls are covered with messages, signatures, phrases and notes of lovers, who leave their messages of love as a good omen when they pass along this street. In the courtyard there is a bronze statue of Juliet, where lovers like to have their photograph taken. The City of Verona recently opened this romantic site as backdrop for wedding ceremonies and the boom of requests received is proof that this place is still in the common imagination as one of the most important destinations and symbols of love.
